"Art is my life and my life is Art"

Emily Carr University of Art + Design Graduate 2006

My childhood memories are FULL of creating - using any objects I could get my hands on. I took drawing, painting and pottery lessons and it seemed only natural to continue post secondary education in the arts. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2006. Loving every media I didn't want to limit myself with a single specialty...

I lived the dream for 4 years soaking up as many skills in every art vocation the University offered.

My grad projects were a lot of ceramic vessel sinks and a pop up book series... learning book-binding was lifechanging and it was during that class that I really found my passion. Although watercolor is my all time favorite I dabble in all mediums from pottery - photography and everything in between.

Since graduating I've been a true entrepreneur,

I have four published works (all collaborations with wonderful people)

but it is my top bucket-list-goal to publish a children's book.... so....

In 2020 I began writing and illustrating my first Graphic Novel;

a project that was officially published June 2025!

My "daytime" jobs include taking care of my two wonderful children and our house full of pets.  I run a small seamstress business and specialize in formal wear alterations. Paint Night classes have been a new and welcome addition to my workload as it forces me to spend time with a paintbrush in hand. Something that I haven't done enough of during the years raising young children!  I also have a long running Etsy store where I sell small handmade items and personally designed PDF sewing patterns.
